Where you contact us to request a quote or to arrange work on your vehicle, we process your personal data under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, because the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Where your enquiry is general and does not relate to a possible contract, we process your personal data under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to read and answer messages sent to us through our own website. You may object to this processing at any time using the contact details below.

Who Receives Your Data

Submitting the contact form sends your message through the following service providers. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to anyone else.

International Transfers

Your enquiry comes to rest inside the European Economic Area. The mailbox that stores and holds it, provided by Zoho Corporation B.V. of Amsterdam, uses data centres in the Netherlands and Ireland, so no transfer outside the EEA takes place for the copy we keep and read.

Two providers involved in delivering your message to that mailbox are based in the United States. Those transfers are protected as follows:

• Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection. You can check its current certification on the Data Privacy Framework list.
• Resend transfers data under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in its data processing addendum.

Data Retention

Your enquiry is retained in our info@baskalsgarage.com mailbox for 24 months from our last contact with you, after which it is deleted. We do not maintain a separate database of contact form submissions.

If your enquiry leads to work on your vehicle, the resulting invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as Maltese tax and company law requires us to keep them. That obligation is separate from this website and applies to our business records rather than to your website enquiry.

Cookies and Local Storage

Our website sets no cookies of its own. It stores a single item in your browser's local storage to remember that you have dismissed the cookie banner. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

Security

Your enquiry is transmitted to us over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and our service providers encrypt it in transit and at rest. Enquiries arrive in a single mailbox on our own domain, access to it is limited to the members of our team who need it, and the account is protected by a password and multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our website is aimed at people seeking vehicle repair services and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
